The Situation:
ADAC's rapid growth and diversification of their product lines has led to several plant expansions and additions. In their Kentwood design center, ADAC found itself in a position where their associates were designing very high-tech solutions in offices that were antiquated. A major redesign and remodel was clearly in order.
The Challenge:
Working with an architect, the operations & facilities management team at ADAC developed a plan for the building shell. WMOI was then called on to design the offices and workstations for 75 ADAC employees, making the space efficient and tailored to the specific work done by different associates.
What WMOI Did:
To best design this technical environment, WMOI put our own technologies to work. First, we drew an initial space plan for ADAC on a laptop computer using GIZA software. Rendering the program in 3-D helped point out several opportunities to improve the plan, maximizing each department's space for the particular work they do. After revising the plan, we rendered the drawing in 3-D again, this time checking for comfort, mechanical, and traffic flow needs. With final changes, the plan was approved and ordered by ADAC management.
Our space planning technologies streamlined the entire process, helping ADAC dream, design, visualize and finalize their layout in a short time. What's more, automating the process helped ensure that the project was delivered on time and on budget.
In Their Own Words:
"We called WMOI, and after initial discussions with their sales personnel, met with a designer who listened to our needs and our concerns, then toured and measured our facility. He went back to where his laptop was waiting, sat down, popped it open, and immediately began to draw his vision, while we watched! WMOI and the rest of the work crews breathed new life into a very dreary and outdated office. They're a great partner for change!"
